A sports tournament and cultural event for Chinese is held each year during the Easter Weekend. Some of the sports competed in are basketball, volley ball, touch rugby, netball,lawn bowls and golf.
The Tournament is held annually on a rotational basis in Wellington, Dunedin, Auckland and Christchurch.

RULES GOVERNING THE NEW ZEALAND CHINESE ASSOCIATION (INC) ANNUAL SPORTS TOURNAMENT (As amended at the Annual Conference 2008) The Tournament shall be called "The New Zealand Chinese Association (Inc) Annual Sports Tournament" and shall be held during the Easter weekend.

The New Zealand Chinese Association is a national organisation with over 80 years of uninterrupted history, comprising of 14 branches throughout New Zealand.
It represents the interests of both long-established and new Chinese migrant groups.
